How a MatchMaker request works

A MatchMaker is assigned to your search and confirms the details with you. Once the details are set, the search starts.
Your MatchMaker looks through other platforms, forums, and listing pages in the area you asked about, then contacts hosts directly about your dates and needs.
When a stay looks like a good match, we bring it onto MatchBook and verify both the host and the property before sending it to you.
We provide you with the listings we found. You review them, apply to the ones you like, and book on MatchBook. If none of them fit, let us know, and we’ll refine our search to find you more options.
What a MatchMaker does

Every host and property a MatchMaker brings in is verified before it’s provided to you, so an option from your MatchMaker has been checked the same way as any listing you’d find on your own.
And what they don’t do
MatchMaking is free, and there’s no obligation to book anything a MatchMaker finds. If you do book one of the places, you book it on MatchBook like any other listing.

How much does MatchMaking cost?
Nothing. Requesting a MatchMaker is free, and you aren’t committed to anything they find for you. If you decide to take one of the places, you book it through MatchBook the same way you’d book any other listing.
How long does it take?
After a MatchMaker confirms the details of your request with you, the search starts right away. We try to have options ready for you within a week, though timing can depend on the local market and how specific your needs are.
Where do the options come from?
Some may already be listed on MatchBook. Others come from hosts your MatchMaker finds on other platforms, forums, and listing pages in the area. Before any of those reach you, we bring the host and listing onto MatchBook and verify both.
What if none of the places work?
Tell your MatchMaker what didn’t fit. They can use your feedback to search again, though what’s available will always depend on your dates and the local market.
Do I need an account?
Not right away. You can send a request with just an email address, but you will need to sign up to apply for and book the listings the MatchMaker provides. If you sign in first, the request form automatically fills in your contact details for you and links the request to your MatchBook account.
