Tell us what you need and a real person goes looking
When the search is not turning up the right place, a MatchMaker takes it from here. They search beyond what is listed, contact hosts directly, and email you homes that fit your dates and your budget.
How it works
Where you're going, your dates, your budget, and anything that would make or break a place. It takes a couple of minutes.
A real person on our team picks up your request and follows up if anything needs pinning down.
They search beyond what's listed on MatchBook and contact hosts directly about your dates.
Places that actually fit, usually within a couple of days. You take it from there, or ask for another round.
What a MatchMaker does
A MatchMaker is a person doing the legwork you would otherwise do yourself, not a service standing between you and a home.
A MatchMaker looks beyond the listings on the site and reaches out to hosts who have not listed your dates yet.
Dates, budget, pets, parking, a commute you cannot stretch. The things a filter cannot weigh against each other.
If the first shortlist misses, say so and they go again. Your request stays open until you have somewhere to live.
And what they do not
Asking is free and there is no obligation. If you book one of the places, you book it on MatchBook like any other listing.
A MatchMaker finds and introduces. You decide, you apply, you sign.
Your request goes to the MatchMaker team, not to every host on the platform.
Questions before you ask
What is a MatchMaker?
A MatchMaker is a real person on the MatchBook team who searches for housing on your behalf. You send what you need, they look, including beyond the listings shown on the site, and they email you places that fit. It is free to ask and there is no obligation.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Asking a MatchMaker is free, and you are not committed to anything they send you. If you decide to take one of the places, you book it through MatchBook the same way you would book any listing you found yourself.
How long does it take?
Most people get a shortlist within a couple of days. It arrives by email from a matchbookrentals.com address, so check your spam folder if you do not see it. A view inside your MatchBook account is coming; for now the shortlist comes to your inbox.
What if none of the places work?
Say so. A MatchMaker can go again with what they learned from your reaction to the first set. Your request stays open until you have found somewhere, and there is no limit on asking them to keep looking.
Do I need an account?
No. You can send a request with just an email address. Signing in first means your contact details are filled in for you, and it links the request to your account so a MatchMaker can see what you have already searched for.
Can a MatchMaker help if I already found a place?
Yes. If you have found something on MatchBook and want a second opinion on whether it fits your dates or budget, or you want alternatives to compare it against, a MatchMaker can put a short list together for you.
Request a MatchMaker
Free to ask, and you are not committing to anything. The more you tell us, the closer the first shortlist lands.
